Equipment

  • Ninja Foodi PossibleCooker PRO
  • Integrated spoon or silicone spoon
  • Measuring cup
  • Fine mesh strainer

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 2 ½ cups water
  • Pinch of salt but I always add it.

Method

  1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Select Sauté mode on the Ninja Foodi PossibleCooker PRO. Add the oil and rice. Cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring, until lightly toasted.
  3. Add water and salt (if using). Stir once.
  4. Switch to Steam mode. Cover with the glass lid and cook for 15 minutes.
  5. Turn off the cooker and let the rice rest, covered, for 5 minutes.
  6. Fluff with the spoon and serve warm.

Notes

  • Rinse the rice well until the water runs clear to prevent it from turning sticky.
  • Adjust water slightly if you prefer softer rice—add 2 extra tablespoons.
  • Double or triple easily in the Ninja’s 8.5-quart pot; it has plenty of room.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
